Convicted internet pirate fined $675,000

The courts have ruled that the biggest idiot ever convicted pirate Joel Tenenbaum has willfully infringed on copyrights, and has awarded the RIAA and the media companies $675,000 , $22,500 for each of the 30 songs he admitted to sharing. In a interview following the judgment, Tenenbaum noted that things could have gotten shitloads worse:

“I’m disappointed, but not surprised, but I’m thankful that it wasn’t much bigger, that it wasn’t millions.”

I don’t understand why people insist on sharing a file after they’ve downloaded it. Let the masses do it and you will still benefit. There are probably 1,000’s of people that download music and don’t even realize that they are seeding sharing it afterward. $675,000 seems a bit much for a jury of his peers to award the record companies because how do they expect the RIAA to get the money from him. They better hire the best bill collectors on earth, Rent-a-Center. When you owe them money they come to your house to take back the shit you have and they are relentless. He said he would have to file bankruptcy if he doesn’t win his appeal. I’m really glad that I stopped seeding downloading music and movies after my computer crashed the frist time. You download too much porn and you’re pretty much bound to get a virus. Tokes go out to Tenenbaum and his internet life, because its gonna be pretty boring.

New Marijuana legalization initiatives have been filed in California…

With the state of California still handing out fucking IOUs to businesses like they’re playing Monopoly because of their immense debt, one of the new plans could be just what the state needs. A trio of Norml affiliated Northern CA attorneys rallied together to create the Tax, Control, and Regulate Cannabis Act of 2010. The second new and better written initiative was created by Richard Lee, founder and president of Oaksterdam University in Oakland, CA.

The 1st act that was created by the lawyers from North CA is in a nut shell complete state legalization with regulation and taxing, while . Richard’s bill would give individual cities and counties the right to decide if they wanted cannabis to be taxed and regulated. Richard’s plan would also allow citizens to posses up to one ounce of marijuana and grow their own in a 5×5 grow space regardless of the city or counties choices on regulation and taxing. Richard’s bill is more likely to garner more attention and support because of his financial resources, having already allotted 1.5 million dollars towards signature gathering. We support any kind of reform of the countries corrupt and oppressive marijuana laws so tokes for Lee and the lawyers.

Blast from the past: US hypocrisy edition

Here we have Hemp for Victory, which was an educational film promoting hemp farming in the United States that was created  after marijuana had already been outlawed in 1937. Hemp for victory was made because the US needed hemp to make products for our US soldiers sailing overseas and since hemp was all that had been used since the last time we were involved in a major conflict we had no other choice and the US quickly made it temporarily legal to grow and supply the govt with hemp.

It’s so inronic how hemp produces this so-called evil drug marijuana according to the US govt. at the time and then they needed the very same people that they were arresting for growing marijuana to grow a form of the very same plant. I feel like through the use of the media and television, and this crazy video that people bought into it perfectly, and its no different in todays’ society. I want to believe that most of us are intelligent and don’t take everything we see on tv or the internet as fact before checking them out ourselves. Check facts and question motives otherwise the US govt. will soon have you housing illegal aliens to keep them from crossing the border…..sounds crazy and impossible but crazier shit has happened. Ok, just kidding that’s a bit radical, but its just to get the point across…form your own ideas and don’t be a sheep.

Hold onto your clunkers, because there’s no more cash…

Looks like you’ll have to keep your shitty ass car a little bit longer like me, because the cash for clunkers program may be cancelled due to lack of funds. Yes they did just begin the program on July 1st and it was part of the huge 819 billion dollar stimulus plan, but apparently toomany people have taken advantage of the plan. The allotted 1 illion dollars for rebates to be given has been used by approximately 200,000 who have requested the credit. Congressional sources said early Thursday evening that the program would be put on hold. But Obama administration officials said later that Clunkers had not been suspended and that they were studying the situation.

Although Cash for Clunkers was due to end on November 1st or whenver the 1 billion dollars was used, an early version of the program called for 4 billion dollars to e the amount given. It makes me it look as though when discussing amounts to give things listed in the stimulus plan, politicians all just sat around and threw out random figures without any hard projectory facts that would lead them to believe they were making pr0ductive decisions. With this and presidential administration time being given to have a beer with two creepos from Boston, I’m beginning to wonder where their priorities are because it seems as though they are focsing a bit more on nonsense and less on passing a healthcare bill that nearly 50 million americans would benefit from. We run the house and senate democrats, why the fuck can’t we get this done???

Zenu let Katie leave home to do this….

Katie Holmes completely tried her human best, but the remnants of alien being left inside her (according to crazy scientology that she follows) did manage to gather together sequences and make that shit look like she was dancing. We’re pretty much over the Cruise clan, apart from Cris Klein’s daughter Suri, and any point in time where Tom Cruise decides that it’s a good idea to go on the Today show and talk about prescription meds, because you know he’s bound to call someone glib or summon zenu to the ABC set….If you don’t mind desperate hungry hippo like dancing and heidi montag like singing for attention, don’t watch…but otherwise enjoy with some special green on hand

p.s.- i guess her “performance” was for charity…..people will tolerate anything if its “for the kids”

Cell Phone safety report from 2002 hidden until now

A report that has just been released to the public reveals that America’s federal transportation safety agency wanted a total ban on all cell phone use for drivers, including the use of hands-free headsets, because of the risk. One big problem is that the report is from 2002 and has been kept secret, for a reason that is yet unknown. That is some Rush Limbaugh getting crazy amounts of pills from his maid type shit and it makes me pretty pissed. Two public interest groups were able to get ahold of the document as a result of a lawsuit citing the Freedom of Information Act. They chose to realease it Tuesday. Part of the report reads:

“We are convinced that legislation forbidding the use of handheld cell phones while driving may not be effective in improving highway safety since it will not address the problem,” the report states. “In fact, such legislation may erroneously imply that hands-free phones are safe to use while driving.”

Sometimes I forget how corrupt some people in our country can be..and then things like this happen. Though I don’t want to jump to conclusions it could appear as though some major cell phone providers and the Govt. are all greedy fucks that don’t care about lives if large amounts of money are on the line were in cahoots to keep this from the public for fear of monetary loss??? People should realize that it’s not the smartest thing to be wrapped in a conversation while having to focus on controlling your vehicle and also observing the actions of other drivers, not to mention holding the fucking thing and the wheel at the same time…..arghhhh (somalian pirate grunt, it helps release steam).Curretly 87% of the US population owns a celleular device, while back in 2002 only about half of the US had cell phones. The problem has only gotten worse and people shouldn’t lose their lives because of someones deceit or their stupidity.

Oakland, California passes new marijuana tax

This is one baby step for California’s budget crisis and an even bigger step toward medical marijuana dispensaries being respected as legitimate businesses. In Oakland, CA yesterday voters made the city the first in the US to tax medical marijuana dispensaries, in what was said to be a landslide vote. About 80% voted in favor of the tax according to  the Almeda County registrar of voters. This new tax comes at a time when Oakland is in massive debt, like most cities in the state. What’s interesting is that it wasn’t the city council that proposed the tax or a legislator, it was a local dispensary owner who felt that he and the cities other dispensaries should put some of their excess income to good use by putting back into the community. One of the dispensary owners that CNN spoke to said that under the new tax he would be contributing an extra 350,000 roughly each year. The new tax measures out to be about $18 for every $1,000 in cannabis sales.

This is fucking sweet to see happening. It seems like it was just yesterday when Arnold the Governator mentioned that maybe we should look into researching the pros and cons of legalization and now one city in CA has imposed this new legislation. Could this be a sign of what is to happen in cities like Los Angeles where there are over 600 dispensaries and collectives? We certainly hope so because we don’t know how much longer companies in CA will continue to take IOUs from the state. There are currently more places where you can obtain legal marijuana in LA than where  you can buy Starbucks and Mcdonalds french fries and if all of them can be taxed a significant amount of revenue would be generated for the state. Maybe then the rest of the country will realize that it is a real way to gather funds for our growing defecit and begin law reform.  Tokes for Oakland and its forward thinking citizens.

Paula Abdul not returning for new season of American Idol?!

Apparently her prescription salary demands were too crazy for FOX to handle because it doesn’t look like the straight-up singer will be sharing her medicated joy with America next season. Paula “I like pills” Abdul’s manager, David Sonenberg released a brief statement yesterday saying that, “it does not appear that Paula’s going to be back on Idol” next season because the singer and walking zombie judge hadn’t yet received a new contract from FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment, the production companies behind the show. Sonenberg who has only been representing Abdul since June expressed his frustration adding

“I find it under these circumstances particularly unusual; I think unnecessarily hurtful. I find it kind of unconscionable and certainly rude and disrespectful that they haven’t stepped up and said what they want to do.”

This is pretty sad because although I dont watch AI religiously anymore I still take comfort in knowing that I can turn on my tv and see Paula’s special way of getting her points across which i’ve aptly named her “crazy jumbled pill speak gibberish.” If this was the show’s plan all along to just ditch Paula as the price of prescriptions rise thats awful dirty. 19 Entertainment has something else coming to them though if they think that Paula’s “prescription pals”  are gonna take this one lying down with a sliced straw and some hard sniffing as usual. I can almost see it now, the “re-hire Paula campaign” to be sponsored by Abbott Pharm, the makers of Vicodin. OK, we dont really think that they are gonna let thier best trainwreck ratings draw leave the show. I kind of have the feeling that this will all be settled before filming for what seems like the 100th season of American Idol begins on August 6th. Don’t pop pills for fun, they can kill you people…embrace the burning trees and breathe in please… aka smoke some weed

Need to find cannabis on your Iphone…there’s now an app for that

Apparently the Iphone really does do everything. Apple has approved a new $2.99 iPhone app, simply named Cannabis. The application was created by the people at ajnag.com (yes, that’s ganja backwards) and the purpose of this amazing app is to help locate legal medical marijuana in states and other places that it can be found. Cannabis, just like other location-based apps takes the known locations of  medical collectives, dispensaries, clinics, doctors, and organizations all from 3 differents sources and aggregates them onto a google map.

The app also helps out those of us who live in areas where cannabis dispensaries and collectives aren’t legal. It will provide the user with the closest legal cannabis organization to encourage reform. The one feture that I find most appealing is the fact that it has most of the coffeeshops in Amsterdam listed and makes it incredibly easy for me next time I venture to the motherland. No longer will I be too stoned to find my way from Rusland to Grey Area. Check out the video to see it in action and use this app wisely. Share with your fellow man or just me…tokes for ajnag.com for creating such a great app

CBS News on the correlation between legalization and use of marijuana

Watch CBS Videos Online

Here’s a quick video from the home of cougar sexpot Katie Couric, whom we’d do CBS news where they speak to a doctor who clearly states that in the motherland Amsterdam where the sale and use of cannabis in coffeeshops and private residences is tolerated the mere fact that it is available has not increased the use among teens and the like….just a quick FU to the naysayers in video form, check it out and toke up
