Here we have Hemp for Victory, which was an educational film promoting hemp farming in the United States that was created after marijuana had already been outlawed in 1937. Hemp for victory was made because the US needed hemp to make products for our US soldiers sailing overseas and since hemp was all that had been used since the last time we were involved in a major conflict we had no other choice and the US quickly made it temporarily legal to grow and supply the govt with hemp.

It’s so inronic how hemp produces this so-called evil drug marijuana according to the US govt. at the time and then they needed the very same people that they were arresting for growing marijuana to grow a form of the very same plant. I feel like through the use of the media and television, and this crazy video that people bought into it perfectly, and its no different in todays’ society. I want to believe that most of us are intelligent and don’t take everything we see on tv or the internet as fact before checking them out ourselves. Check facts and question motives otherwise the US govt. will soon have you housing illegal aliens to keep them from crossing the border…..sounds crazy and impossible but crazier shit has happened. Ok, just kidding that’s a bit radical, but its just to get the point across…form your own ideas and don’t be a sheep.

With the state of California still handing out fucking IOUs to businesses like they’re playing Monopoly because of their immense debt, one of the new plans could be just what the state needs. A trio of Norml affiliated Northern CA attorneys rallied together to create the Tax, Control, and Regulate Cannabis Act of 2010. The second new and better written initiative was created by Richard Lee, founder and president of Oaksterdam University in Oakland, CA.

The 1st act that was created by the lawyers from North CA is in a nut shell complete state legalization with regulation and taxing, while Richard Lee’s bill would give individual cities and counties the right to decide if they wanted cannabis to be taxed and regulated. Richard’s plan would also allow citizens to posses up to one ounce of marijuana and grow their own in a 5×5 grow space regardless of the city or counties choices on regulation and taxing. Richard’s bill is more likely to garner more attention and support because of his financial resources, having already allotted 1.5 million dollars towards signature gathering. We support any kind of reform of the countries corrupt and oppressive marijuana laws so tokes for Lee and the lawyers.

Comic-con is not only a nerds paradise, it was held in California, where medical marijuana is legal, so there were bound to be throves of cannabis supporters as well as probably a hell of a lot of the special green on site. One of those supporters was for me an obvious fellow toker, writer and director Kevin Smith. While he looks 8 monts pregnant, he’s still a creative genius in our minds, making such greats like Clerks and Clerks 2 which is my favorite because they discuss one of my specialties…ass-to- mouth…Ok totally fucking kidding, I won’t even eat an m&m off the ground, let alone put my mouth on something that looks like Renee Zelwegger’s desperate pouty smile. Ass-to-mouth is something for professionals folks, leave it to them but its ok to think about ass-to-mouth, just have some tokes before you seriously consider it. Well here’s Kevin talking about his love for fatty cuisine the greatest herb ever.

Unfortunately I believe that it will only be broadcast in the Los Angeles area, but we have this fuckin sweet alien technology called the internet where mostly everything is available and i’m sure this will be too. I’m pretty excited for this new show. Check out the trailer up top for a feel of what the show will be like.

Looks like were getting more lies from the man with tiny eyes because in a recent interview the new drug-czar, Gil Kerlikowske he was quoted saying:

Looks like were getting more lies from the man with tiny eyes because in a recent interview the new drug-czar, Gil Kerlikowske he was quoted saying:

“Legalization is not in the president’s vocabulary, and it’s not in mine,” he said. … “Marijuana is dangerous and has no medicinal benefit.” The federal government is not going to pull back on its efforts to curtail marijuana farming operations, Gil Kerlikowske, director of the White House’s Office of National Drug Control Policy, said Wednesday in Fresno.

This is coming from the same man who held a very lax view on marijuana in his former position as police chief of Seattle. Gil also recently called for an end on the war on drugs. It seems to me as though he has a case of the “John flip-flop Kerry” and it really pisses me off. While I know that we are a considerable amount of time away from legalization, it should most certainly be in his brains that while in the Obama administration the issue should be discussed. It’s a pretty big croc of shit for him to pick and chose when he wants to have a progressive intelligent point of view and when he wants to sound like Paula Abdul on a good day. Normal has recently noted that it is stupid of him to make such a comment because they recently featured a study on their site that found the following information:

“Clearly, there is a growing acceptability of the therapeutic practice of medicinal cannabis use amongst organized medicine groups. … Estimates indicate that in 2008, approximately 7,000 American physicians have made such authorizations for a total of approximately 400,000 patients.”

I really hope that he can pull it together and fly straight because positions can be filled and we can find another czar that can stick to one stance on marijuana, one being towards reform and progression, not lies and oppression….im starting to feel a bit like Al Sharpton so i’ll stop now cause that’s never a place u wanna take yourself to, but you get the point…legalize it bitches

Anything is possible if you’re famous. Or at least for the kid who plays Vincent Crabbee in the Harry Potter movies. Jamie Waylett who has starred in all six Harry Potter movies was uber lucky to only recieve 120 hours of community service for growing a plant that should be legal a crime for which he could have recieved upto 14 years in jail. Jamie was busted back in April when cops found eight bags of weed in the car in which he was riding. Cops later searched his mom’s home and found 10 growing marijuana plants. The judge was reportedly so lenient because he understood that the plants were on a small scale and were only for his use.

His community service could include clearing graveyards, cleaning graffiti, picking up trash, chopping down overgrown trees clearing, leaves and clearing ditches. He should feel like the luckiest kid on earth, but he shouldn’t have to if marijuana were legal….tokes for Jamie for pleading guilty, taking your sentence and growing madd amounts weed….If someone is growing 10 plants it probably isn’t on a small scale

This is one baby step for California’s budget crisis and an even bigger step toward medical marijuana dispensaries being respected as legitimate businesses. In Oakland, CA yesterday voters made the city the first in the US to tax medical marijuana dispensaries, in what was said to be a landslide vote. About 80% voted in favor of the tax according to the Almeda County registrar of voters. This new tax comes at a time when Oakland is in massive debt, like most cities in the state. What’s interesting is that it wasn’t the city council that proposed the tax or a legislator, it was a local dispensary owner who felt that he and the cities other dispensaries should put some of their excess income to good use by putting back into the community. One of the dispensary owners that CNN spoke to said that under the new tax he would be contributing an extra 350,000 roughly each year. The new tax measures out to be about $18 for every $1,000 in cannabis sales.

This is fucking sweet to see happening. It seems like it was just yesterday when Arnold the Governator mentioned that maybe we should look into researching the pros and cons of legalization and now one city in CA has imposed this new legislation. Could this be a sign of what is to happen in cities like Los Angeles where there are over 600 dispensaries and collectives? We certainly hope so because we don’t know how much longer companies in CA will continue to take IOUs from the state. There are currently more places where you can obtain legal marijuana in LA than where you can buy Starbucks and Mcdonalds french fries and if all of them can be taxed a significant amount of revenue would be generated for the state. Maybe then the rest of the country will realize that it is a real way to gather funds for our growing defecit and begin law reform. Tokes for Oakland and its forward thinking citizens.

This is not one of the make-believe committees that George W. would create in the oval office during his substantial amount of time without coke free time. The Congressional Anti-Cannabis Caucus was recently formed under the idea that the Obama administration is becoming lax on the biggest shitpot lie waste of money ever war on drugs. The leader and dipshit brains responsible for the caucus is none other than desperate or attention republican John Mica.

Mica and the group have four main objectives, with the most contradictory of them being their desire to ” disrupt the narcotics market” as well as “healing drug users”. If Mica and his group of creepy republicans really wanted to disrupt the narcotics market they would be campaigning for the legalization and regulation of marijuana because right now the market is in the hands of drug dealers and not the US govt. As if this caucus could even make an attempt to make some of their changes, one thing that would be nearly impossible for them to accomplish would be the “healing of drug users.” While we don’t disagree that some people can abuse cannabis and could use some “healing”, I don’t believe that cannabis is the problem. Those who abuse cannabis are not doing it because of the effect from the drug, but simply from something that they are missing within themselves and an untrained congress member really wouldn’t be of much help to someone with a substance problem?

It’s no wonder that all eight, yes all 8 members of the caucus are republicans and we’d like to give you the chace to contact them and express your opposition to their bizzare and infantile ideas thoughts. So since he is the leader of the caucus John Mica is a good place to start. He can be reached at two different email addresses, jmica@mail.house.gov or john.mica@mail.house.gov

Apparently the Iphone really does do everything. Apple has approved a new $2.99 iPhone app, simply named Cannabis. The application was created by the people at ajnag.com (yes, that’s ganja backwards) and the purpose of this amazing app is to help locate legal medical marijuana in states and other places that it can be found. Cannabis, just like other location-based apps takes the known locations of medical collectives, dispensaries, clinics, doctors, and organizations all from 3 differents sources and aggregates them onto a google map.

The app also helps out those of us who live in areas where cannabis dispensaries and collectives aren’t legal. It will provide the user with the closest legal cannabis organization to encourage reform. The one feture that I find most appealing is the fact that it has most of the coffeeshops in Amsterdam listed and makes it incredibly easy for me next time I venture to the motherland. No longer will I be too stoned to find my way from Rusland to Grey Area. Check out the video to see it in action and use this app wisely. Share with your fellow man or just me…tokes for ajnag.com for creating such a great app
